Brave Baby – “Standard Deviation“
After some time away, indie five-piece Brave Baby has resurfaced with a second soft rock single, “Standard Deviation,” to follow up “Blue Year.” Interlacing psychedelic melodies with smooth vocals, these two tracks are an excellent reintroduction to Brave Baby’s synth-saturated, feel-good style.
Girl Pluto – “Can’t Move”
Space folk duo Girl Pluto dropped its first single ever on all streaming platforms, and we’re here for it. Emma Dooley’s melancholic violin and Brooke Garwood’s wistful vocals float along electric guitar rhythms and the bashful lyrics remind us what it’s like to long for something.
Tyrie – “Sweat”
Tyrie just dropped “Sweat,” his second single this year that preludes his upcoming album Season III. The new song is downtempo, atmospheric hip-hop scattered with sharp, provocative lyrics. You can watch Tyrie perform the single as part of his new Youtube series, “Office Sessions.”
Grace Joyner – “Lovers Do”
Grace Joyner’s new song “Lovers Do,” entangles muted dream pop with percussive elements for an introspective experience, good for a cup of coffee next to a window looking out on the approaching day. Her voice is weightless as she makes the confession: “I could make you promises / see them through / I would probably break one or two / the way that people in love do.”
