DHEC reports 951 new cases in week, 2 deaths. South Carolina health officials on Tuesday reported 951 total new cases of COVID-19 between March 27 and April 2, with 632 confirmed. Two total new deaths were also reported, both of which were confirmed. As of April 2, 132 COVID-19-positive individuals are hospitalized, and 10 COVID-19-positive individuals are ventilated. South Carolina House Republicans on Tuesday passed a bill that would bar transgender students from playing girls’ or women’s sports in public schools in colleges, outlasting more than 1,000 amendments by Democrats.
