Steaks, martinis and dinner with trailblazers
David Swee of James Island wants to enjoy classically rich dishes like a ribeye steak, coconut cake and a chocolate martini for his dream dinner. He wants to invite a few of history’s trailblazers to learn more about overcoming obstacles and perseverance, he said.
DREAM DINNER GUESTS: Arthur Ashe, Amelia Earhart and Harriet Tubman
DRINK: The Elizabeth Taylor chocolate martini from The Honey Hive. “Having an Elizabeth Taylor is like drinking your dessert.”
APPETIZER: Ricotta Gnocchi alla Bolognese from FIG. “The gnocchi stuffed with ricotta and covered with bolognese sauce at FIG is as good as homemade from Italy.”
ENTREE: Dry-aged ribeye from Halls Chophouse. “It’s Halls…nothing more needs to be said (Thank you, Billy). The best steak in the Southeast.”
DESSERT: Ultimate Coconut Cake from Peninsula Grill. “It’s the best dessert in Charleston.”
