Cocktails with Prince, Morrison and Baldwin
Megan Barbee Banker of downtown Charleston wants to sit down with the legendary Prince, Toni Morrison and James Baldwin to enjoy a cheesy appetizer, spicy cocktail, Asian tofu dish and a sweet treat.
DREAM DINNER GUESTS: Prince, Morrison and Baldwin
DRINK: El Diablo from the Gin Joint. “The El Diablo is a grown-up, spicy version of the preferred beverage of someone whose favorite flavor is ‘red.’ I’m that kind of someone.”
APPETIZER: Whipped feta and bacon wrapped dates from Butcher & Bee. “You have your salt with the bacon and feta, your sweet with the dates and fermented honey. It’s hot, crispy meat and soft cheese. What could possibly be wrong?”
ENTREE: Chili tofu from Jackrabbit Filly. “I am not crazy about tofu, but this dish is one of the best things I have ever tasted. The tofu totally absorbs the chili garlic sauce and the ricotta gnocchi are like little dream puffs.”
DESSERT: Cinnamon biscuit from Callie’s Biscuits. “Fresh out of the oven. If there is ice cream involved, I am OK with that.”
