The new sauce can be used to heat up the summer seafood dishes you’ll munch on at barbecues, boils, parties or a nice night on the water.
“As our Red Clay sauces and spices gain more traction in the South and beyond, our mission at Red Clay is still the same: to take classic, Southern condiments and elevate them with Chef Geoff’s culinary expertise for every foodie’s and home cook’s kitchen,” said Co-Founder & CEO Molly Fienning.
“The Spicy Cocktail Sauce is a perfect example of how Red Clay can bring to market a new, elevated version of something nostalgic and relatable. With our Spicy Cocktail Sauce, we’re staying true to our Charleston, seafood-focused roots and leveling up the old standard with spice, premium ingredients, and a more delicious, complex flavor profile.”
A blend of fresh tomatoes, horseradish, Dijon, Pequin chili pepper flakes, sumac, fennel seeds, lemongrass, ginger and a splash of sherry vinegar bring a balance of acid, savory and heat.
The new sauce is available online at redclayhotsauce.com for $15 for a 10.5-ounce bottle. It will be available at retail stores in the coming months.
