Two years ago just before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the median price of a home in South Carolina was $233,500. In May, that figure rose to $326,000, and the cost is now significantly higher. 

Hilton Head once again led the state with the highest median price at $495,000, up almost 21% from one year ago in May. Charleston posted the second-highest price of $410,000. Beaufort, Greenville, Myrtle Beach and Rock Hill posted median prices in May above $300,000. Submarkets that include Aiken, Anderson, Columbia, Greenwood, North Augusta, Spartanburg and Sumter reported prices north of $200,000. More: The Post and Courier
