Sharing Southern dishes and spicy margaritas

Robin Quick of Mount Pleasant said she would invite the late Princess Diana, Food Network chef Ina Garten and her husband Joe to her dream dinner, which consists of a spicy-sweet drink, seafood dishes and a tasty Southern dessert.

DREAM DINNER GUESTS: “Princess Diana, Ina Garden, and my husband Joe.”

DRINK: Habanero Grapefruit Margarita from Sol. “[This] is the perfect balance of spice, tang, sweetness and tequila kick.”

APPETIZER: Mussels marinière from 39 Rue de Jean. “The mussels at Rue de Jean are just perfect and unequaled, and consistently excellent.”

ENTREE: Shrimp and grits from the former Hominy Grill. “The shrimp and grits from Hominy Grill were absolutely perfect and I still dream of them since the restaurant closed. The crisp bacon, creamy grits, delicate shrimp in a lemony broth took this classic Lowcountry meal to the heights of cuisine and helped elevate Charleston to the dining capital it is now.”

DESSERT: Toffee pecan cake from Red Drum in Mount Pleasant. “The Toffee Pecan Cake is perfectly sweet, salty, cream, rich and satisfying with a hot buttered rum sauce to die for. There’s not a dessert in the world I love more.”
