Mount Pleasant ceramicist Maria White has embraced the healing power of pottery in her own life. She extends that experience to others through her community outreach nonprofit Mugs for Moms, which she founded after surviving postpartum anxiety and depression. By providing pottery classes and mental health resources, White has helped bring together women of diverse backgrounds to harness the therapeutic aspects of artistic expression.
