Authorities continued to search Sunday for a 9-month-old child from Charleston after they discovered his 2-year-old sister’s body following a July 15 flash flood on the Delaware River in Pennsylvania.
According to the Associated Press, “Hundreds of people including search and rescue teams, marine units and police and fire personnel have scoured the area with the aid of ‘K-9s, sonar, drones, boats, divers, heavy equipment, GPS mapping and air units,’ police said, adding that they were now at the point that ‘our search will be dependent upon the conditions of the river.’”
A Charleston family was visiting relatives and friends in Pennsylvania and on the way to a July 15 barbecue when their vehicle was hit by a “wall of water,” according to one official. The children’s father reportedly grabbed a 4-year-old son and made it to safety, while their mother and grandmother grabbed the other children. The grandmother survived, but the mother didn’t, according to press reports.

Blue land crabs, an invasive species in South Carolina, are coming out of burrow holes for higher land thanks to recent rains.”
