Popular local barbecue restaurant Swig & Swine announced this week that it will open a fifth location within Park Circle brewery Commonhouse Aleworks in early January.
“We are excited and ready to kick off our service with Commonhouse Aleworks,” Anthony DiBernardo, pitmaster and owner of Swig & Swine said in a press release. “This partnership is more than just good barbecue and beer, and we look forward to sharing this experience with the Park Circle and greater North Charleston communities.”
Swig & Swine’s menu at Commonhouse will include dishes like smoked brisket sausage with pimento cheese, boiled peanut hummus with falafel and pulled pork sandwiches.
Swig & Swine replaces Florie’s Dining Group as Commonhouse’s food partner; you can still find Florie’s locations in Mount Pleasant including Pier 41, The Basement and Coach’s Canteen on Clements Ferry Road (opening soon), as well as in North Charleston at Cloud 9 Kitchen.
You can also still nosh on Florie’s favorites at Commonhouse until the Swig & Swine takeover — look no further than Instagram for a cry for the beloved crispy brussel sprouts and soft pretzel with beer cheese. Swig & Swine’s full Commonhouse menu will be released closer to its opening.
Commonhouse recently opened a second location in the Charleston International Airport. Swig & Swine continues to expand, too, with plans for spots in Moncks Corner and Myrtle Beach.
Swig & Swine is currently located in Mount Pleasant, West Ashley and Summerville.
Commonhouse is open 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Editor’s note: DiBernardo’s son, Asher, had a skateboarding accident a week ago and is currently in a medically induced coma. You can follow along on Asher’s progress on Swig & Swine’s Instagram, where his parents post daily updates.
