The Charleston peninsula was mostly a ghost town Tuesday thanks to a city-wide, storm-induced curfew that has been extended through Wednesday. A few people walked dogs. There might have been one or two tourists (hint: they held cell phones looking at where they were). But not much was open and there weren’t many places to go as barricades kept people from sloshing around in vehicles.

For the next couple of days, Tropical Storm Debby will be spinning in and around Charleston enough to keep drenching the area with rains that keep streets flooded and people going stir crazy in their homes. (Read more.)
