Frozen custard spot Gustard’s Custard is now open at 2200 Heriot Street. The business shares a parking lot with Over The Horizon Brewery (formerly Brewlab Charleston) and is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

For those not in the know, custard is a frozen treat similar to ice cream, but made with egg yolks, which gives it a denser quality. At Gustard’s, guests can choose from vanilla, chocolate and seasonally flavored soft serve, along with a variety of toppings.
Gustard’s Custard is owned by Nelson Burch and is named for his dog Gus. With dogs in mind, Gustard’s serves up “pooch scoops” with greek yogurt and blueberries.
The space has outdoor seating and diners are invited to take their sweet treats into neighboring business, Over The Horizon.
