MORNING HEADLINES | Today’s bright supermoon will be fullest just after sunset – around 6:14 p.m., and will also appear to be full on Friday night.
Supermoons occur when the moon reaches its nearest point to our planet, making it look up to 30% brighter and 14% larger. Recent supermoons also occurred in October and November.
But whether we’ll be able to see much of what is called the “Cold Moon” tonight is unclear as local weather is expected to be cloudy tonight as rain moves in for Friday.
If you want to check it out, look slightly above the horizon in the east and northeast sky.
