Reports taken from Dec. 2 to Dec. 8

Even the roast beast?

Two Mount Pleasant people on Dec. 5 reportedly stole a shopping cart full of toys from a store on U.S. Highway 17 North. During a messy escape — they originally tried to leave through the garden section and ultimately had to run out of an emergency exit — they dropped a set of sheets by the door. Guess the Grinch is starting early this year.

Aggressive confession

Charleston police on Dec. 2 responded to a Meeting Street convenience store after receiving calls about an assault. While talking to the victim, a man approached and reportedly told police he had committed the crime. Neither the victim nor the caller could confirm this, but the man became “confrontational and belligerent,” as he asserted that he assaulted the victim. Officers ended up arresting him, so … mission accomplished?

Is she OK?

A North Charleston woman has stolen nearly $700 worth of Imodium from a Dorchester Road grocery store since August, according to a Dec. 7 police report. Store employees report the woman comes in once or twice a month to steal the pill bottles. We have several questions — and one very serious and, ahem, ongoing concern.

100-second car

Mount Pleasant police on Dec. 7 reportedly chased a pair of vehicles “racing” each other on U.S. Highway 17 at a scathing 60 mph. Officers followed the racers to Oakland Market Road, where they eventually found both drivers, one man and one woman. Officers cited each for reckless driving. Dudes, you might have almost had them.
