Wildlife in Wool exhibition

Step into a playful world of discovery at Wildlife in Wool, an interactive art exhibition by fiber artist Sarah Mitchell featuring needle felted animals inspired by the wildlife of South Carolina. Hidden throughout the vault, these lifelike wool sculptures invite visitors to become explorers as they search for birds, mammals and other creatures that call the region home.

Hampton Park Farmers Market

A new farmers market will debut June 10 in Hampton Park for just four weeks as it tests viability in the community. Spearheaded by a trio of local grassroots organizers and restaurateurs, this market is working to bring fresh produce, flowers, bread, honey, meats and more to the Hampton Park and Wagener Terrace neighborhoods in downtown Charleston.

Candlemaking party

Join Island Candles’ hands-on candlemaking party to create your own custom soy candles with beeswax toppers inspired by the Lowcountry. During this guided workshop, guests will learn the basics of candlemaking, from blending fragrances to pouring and decorating clean-burning, hypoallergenic candles. Each guest will take home their custom created, hand-poured candle the same day.

More marketing: The Hampton Park Farmers Market debuted June 10 at the Rose Pavilion in a four-week test of the viability of the new community gathering spot. The market will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 17 and 24 as well as July 1. The effort is spearheaded by Basic Kitchen co-owner Eva Suarez, local restaurant entrepreneur Brooks Reitz and the M.A.R.S.H. Project, a grassroots initiative working to preserve and restore Charleston’s marshlands. More: thpfm.com
