Reports taken from June 17 to June 27

Emergency repairs
A Mount Pleasant woman on June 23 told police the “top half” of a statue she displays near her driveway was missing. Before police could even begin their investigation, the woman called them back and said that her gardener had hit the statue with his lawnmower, breaking it in half. He then took the top half (in pieces) back to his home to try and repair it before the owner noticed it’s absence. Oops?
Where’s the beef?
A Mount Pleasant man on June 23 called town police after recognizing the same man hanging out outside his Houston Northcutt Boulevard business over several days. The caller noted the man was wearing a Wendy’s T-shirt — not an employee uniform, the report specifies, but merchandise. When the caller confronted the man, the caller told police the man took a “fighting stance,” but ultimately left. Police said they did not find the man when they arrived.
Long gone
A North Charleston man on June 26 told city police his bicycle was stolen off his front porch while he was inside. The man reported the bike had a chain cover and broken brakes. Our advice: Start looking for a new bike, man — that one’s gotta be across the country by now. Not like the thief could stop without brakes, after all!
Phone a better friend
Charleston police on June 17 stopped an apparently drunken woman walking down Fenwick Hall Allee on Johns Island after receiving a call about her verbally fighting with a man who at some point drove off and left her alone. Police advised her to call a friend to come pick her up — the first didn’t answer the phone, the second told her to call an Uber and the third lived in New Jersey. At the end of the day, police had to take her in for public intoxication.
Suspicious, but OK?
North Charleston police on June 27 investigated a call about two kids walking around a Breeders Cup Lane storage facility with a pair of bolt cutters. When they got there, the pair was gone. Police noted no locks appeared to be broken and nothing appeared to have been stolen. Guess they were just window shopping.
