Sounds of Summer

Head to the Sanctuary every Saturday through the summer for a family-friendly concert series hosted on the Grand Lawn. Hanahan expansion: Blackwells Corner, downtown Hanahan’s new town center, has announced its first wave of businesses. These include a wood-fired pizzeria from local chef Jalen Reeves called Untitled Pizza Co., a mercato and wine bar concept from Cane Pazzo chef and owner Mark Bolchoz and a second location of Kudu Coffee and Wine. Punk rock party: Charleston Wine + Food’s Summer Sizzle is hosting Wine + Punk Rock (Vol. 2) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Philosophers and Fools. It’s a follow-up to last year’s Wine + Heavy Metal. This year’s punked-up event will pair five wines with five punk albums. Hosted by Aneel James, Michael Bourke, Tina Schuttenberg and Bethany Heinze, it will be part wine seminar and part basement show.
