There’s one week left to sign up to participate in this year’s Burger Throwdown. Voting starts Sept. 1 through Sept. 20 on our online portal.

Join the Charleston area’s biggest food event of September. Our annual“Best of Charleston-like”, four-week promotion will put you in the conversation with thousands of readers who will vote Sept. 1 to Sept. 20 for their favorite place to grab a burger. They also will vote in seven other fun burger categories, such as cheesiest burger and best Hangover Helper burger.

Our “well done” advertising mix of print, web and social media will drive voters to your restaurant or bar throughout September as they try your selection of burgers.

We can also help you with staffing. How? Your participation comes with four weeks of employment ads to help you staff up for the fall.

Finally, your place’s participation also benefits the Charleston Animal Society which will be
co-promoting the Burger Throwdown to its 100,000+ social media followers.

Eleven hamburger restaurants participated in the 2025 Burger Throwdown competition in which readers cast ballots online in eight categories, with Best Place to Get a Burger being considered the overall top award category.
