Deadline to register to vote in S.C. is just around the corner

MORNING HEADLINES | The deadline is fast approaching if you want to vote in the Nov. 3 midterm elections. South Carolina residents have until Oct. 4 to register in-person or online. Residents who plan to register by mail must have their registration postmarked by Oct. 5.

Registration can be completed in just a few easy steps:

Register online at scvotes.gov (applications must be received by Oct. 4 at 11:59 p.m.).
Download a voter registration form at scvotes.gov. Complete and return the form to your county voter registration office:
By fax or email attachment (must be received by Oct. 4 at 11:59 p.m.).
By mail (must be postmarked by Oct. 5).
Register in person at your county voter registration office (most offices will close at 5 p.m. Oct. 2.

Early voting for the 2026 general election is Oct. 19 to Oct. 31. Early voting centers in each county will be open 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays.
