Harshing the vibes
A Mount Pleasant woman on Sept. 18 reportedly caused a disturbance at a Houston Northcutt Blvd. coffee shop over the “vibes” she got in the store. According to a police report, the woman said when she entered the shop, her “hair gets knotted,” and when they pour drinks, her “body tingles.” Store employees told police they wanted her banned from the store, but officers were unable to find her in the area — err, in the aura.
One last marg?
North Charleston police on Sept. 9 arrested a man for suspected driving under the influence on Rivers Avenue. After pulling over his vehicle, police spotted “multiple” open canned margaritas in the vehicle, and the driver admitted to being drunk behind the wheel. Come on, boys, summer is almost over! Let a man have his one last hurrah.
Rocking out
Mount Pleasant police are investigating a reported Sept. 13 theft after a woman told officers someone stole a rocking chair from the back of her friend’s pickup truck somewhere between buying the chair, going shopping and getting home. Police eventually labeled the report as unfounded, since there was no evidence of an actual theft aside from the missing chair. Probably unrelated, but we found this cool chair on the side of the road the other day!
We’re suspicious
North Charleston police on Sept. 11 investigated an alleged shoplifting after an Ashley Phosphate Road store employee reported an “unknown suspect” stuffed an “unknown quantity” of cookies and other snacks into his clothes and fled the store. We don’t want to overstep here, guys, but we might have our prime suspect already.
Good call, kid
A Mount Pleasant woman on Sept. 11 called town police after a UPS driver reportedly pulled up in front of her Equestrian Drive home, and called out to her young son and asked if he “wanted to see the inside of the truck.” The boy reportedly declined and went back inside. The woman told police her family was expecting packages, but the driver did not drop any off. Police are still investigating.
