Reports taken from Sept. 13 to Sept. 23
Charleston police on Sept. 13 responded to a West Ashley pharmacy after a store employee said two people entered the Old Towne Road store and reportedly stole 20 bottles of body wash, several boxes of tissues and paper towels as well as a few containers of painkillers. Are we missing something? What are the numbers on the resale market for body wash? Anybody?
They got one!
Mount Pleasant police on Sept. 17 stopped a 14-year-old boy who was popping wheelies on a dirt bike along King Street in the Old Village. The boy told officers the bike could go up to 40 mph, so police called his mom, handed her an e-bike education pamphlet and issued a warning. But warning or not, this might mark the first real victory for Mount Pleasant police in their ongoing conflict with e-bike-riding kids.
The Lorax?
A North Charleston man on Sept. 23 called city police after a foot-long and 4-inch-thick rotten tree branch “somehow busted throughโ his bedroom window while he was watching TV in the living room. The man told officers he wanted to make sure it was reported, as it wasnโt the first time this had happened. Police are investigating the incident as vandalism, but we think theyโre going to have a hard time finding the Lorax.
What happened next?
Charleston police are investigating a Sept. 22 incident that left a parked vehicle damaged after a truck snagged a basketball net while driving on Ashley Gardens Boulevard. The basketball hoop fell over, striking another vehicle while the truck drove away. This sounds like the start of the worst Rube Goldberg machine ever made.
