MORNING HEADLINES | The average gasoline prices in South Carolina have fallen 20.9 cents per gallon in the last week, according to GasBuddy. Today’s average sits at $3.75 per gallon across the state.
Overall, prices in South Carolina are 29.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand $1.11 per gallon higher than a year ago.
“Average gasoline prices declined in the vast majority of states over the last week, led by a combination of state fuel tax suspensions and price-cycling markets working their way back down, while diesel rose in most states, though the largest diesel decline was driven by a state tax suspension,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
Meanwhile the national average price of gas fell 5.5 cents per gallon in the last week, for an average of $4.24 per gallon as of Monday.
