Reports taken from Nov. 20 to Dec. 4

It’s educational!

North Charleston police on Dec. 4 reported a Rivers Avenue carpet store employee on a smoke break recently saw a human infant’s skull roll out of a plastic shopping bag. After looking into it, police said the skull was most likely used in a classroom setting and nothing to worry about. Tell that to the person on the smoke break, who must have felt a heart attack coming on.

Just the wind

Mount Pleasant police on Nov. 20 caught a Mount Pleasant man allegedly trying to break into a woman’s home through a partially broken laundry room window. The suspect told officers “the wind must have blown [the window] out,” and that he actually lived in the house in question. Police didn’t buy it, and he was arrested.

Friendly reminder

A downtown man on Dec. 1 told Charleston police his green pepper plant was stolen off his front porch. The man reportedly showed police security camera footage of the theft, but told officers that the camera had not been adjusted for daylight-saving time. So this is just your friendly reminder to set the rest of your clocks back. Yes, even that one.

Must be a regular

Mount Pleasant police on Nov. 26 responded to calls about a man brandishing a knife outside of a department store, reportedly scaring customers. When police arrived, the man reportedly yelled obscenities at passersby, calling them rude names for apparently calling the police. The man was asked to leave, but store managers declined to ban the man from the premises, and no arrests were made.

December probing

Charleston police on Dec. 1 spoke with a man about “illegal technology” being placed in his body and “radar beams” targeting him. Responding paramedics set up a telehealth conference for the man, and he was later transferred to a nearby hospital for observation. Someone get Nancy Mace on the phone, she loves talking about aliens nowadays.
