Reports taken from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29

No other explanation

North Charleston police on Jan. 26 pulled over a vehicle on Northwoods Boulevard for having an  illegal window tint, but found the driverโ€™s purse full of roughly 20 โ€œused and unusedโ€ needles. The woman reportedly told officers โ€œshe uses them for methamphetamineโ€ and that was the โ€œsole purposeโ€ of having them. No surprise โ€” she was arrested.

Sure, buddy

A Mount Pleasant man on Jan. 29 reported to police that several kids ran through his backyard and used his recycling barrel to jump over his fence. He told police he โ€œwould hate to see one of them getting hurt,โ€ but we know that really just means heโ€™d โ€œhate to see his recycling barrel get hurt.โ€

Little too far

A Mount Pleasant man told police on Jan. 28 that he and his buddy were on his way to go โ€œshopping and to buy dope.โ€ Weโ€™d like to offer some wisdom: There is a fine line between honesty and a criminal confession. If ever in doubt, err on the side of just shutting up.

What a cliffhanger

A North Charleston woman on Jan. 26 reportedly tried to steal about $200 worth of clothes from a Northwoods Boulevard department store for โ€œa job interview,โ€ she told police. She was arrested for shoplifting, which means we probably wonโ€™t ever find out how the job interview went.

A neat trick

A North Charleston womanโ€™s car windshield on Jan. 26 was cracked by falling pebbles from a city dump truck on Interstate 26. North Charleston police reported that insurance would most likely cover all damages and potentially replace the driverโ€™s windshield. We had no idea it was so easy to replace a windshield; thanks for the tip!
