Reports taken from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29

No other explanation

North Charleston police on Jan. 26 pulled over a vehicle on Northwoods Boulevard for having an  illegal window tint, but found the driver’s purse full of roughly 20 “used and unused” needles. The woman reportedly told officers “she uses them for methamphetamine” and that was the “sole purpose” of having them. No surprise — she was arrested.

Sure, buddy

A Mount Pleasant man on Jan. 29 reported to police that several kids ran through his backyard and used his recycling barrel to jump over his fence. He told police he “would hate to see one of them getting hurt,” but we know that really just means he’d “hate to see his recycling barrel get hurt.”

Little too far

A Mount Pleasant man told police on Jan. 28 that he and his buddy were on his way to go “shopping and to buy dope.” We’d like to offer some wisdom: There is a fine line between honesty and a criminal confession. If ever in doubt, err on the side of just shutting up.

What a cliffhanger

A North Charleston woman on Jan. 26 reportedly tried to steal about $200 worth of clothes from a Northwoods Boulevard department store for “a job interview,” she told police. She was arrested for shoplifting, which means we probably won’t ever find out how the job interview went.

A neat trick

A North Charleston woman’s car windshield on Jan. 26 was cracked by falling pebbles from a city dump truck on Interstate 26. North Charleston police reported that insurance would most likely cover all damages and potentially replace the driver’s windshield. We had no idea it was so easy to replace a windshield; thanks for the tip!
