Dogtoberfest

In celebration of Halloween and Oktoberfest, Freshfields Village’s most popular pet-friendly event returns with an afternoon of canine-themed fun. The venue will be abuzz with furry friends in costume, highlighted with a pet costume contest, local vendors with unique dog gear and accessories, adoptable pups from community rescues and more.

Halloween ‘Terror’-arium

Shakedown Jam

Get ready for a day of music, art and community at this Park Circle block party surrounding Commonhouse Aleworks. Firefly Distillery oyster roast

Partnering with Lowcountry Oyster Co. for the fifth year in a row, Firefly’s annual all-you-can-eat oyster roast monthly series kicks off this weekend. Founded in 1998, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market celebrates the hard work of local farmers and makers. Pass the Mic for Perimenopause at PURE Theatre

Pass the Mic for Perimenopause is the latest show from Kerri Devine, the producer of Charleston’s sold-out Midlife Monologues. Fort Dorchester High School culinary instructor Elaina Ruth is competing on this season of FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen. Ruth is a Spartanburg native who has also competed on Food Network’s Chopped and is in her second year teaching high school students.

Indaco has rolled out its fall menu. Executive Chef Tito Marino’s new dishes celebrate Italian tradition and the bounty of the South. Menu items include a Brussels sprouts pizza with bacon, apple, ricotta, smoked mozzarella, spiced maple syrup and Aleppo pepper as well as a cavatelli pasta with brown butter, roasted squash, Parmesan, fried sage and hazelnuts.

Cayla Lacosta, a longtime partner at House of Brews in West Ashley, after she was seriously injured in a car accident. The crash reportedly left her with injuries requiring extensive surgeries, leaving her unable to work for the foreseeable future. Friends, family and patrons have set up a GoFundMe to help.

Hank’s Seafood Restaurant is now serving lunch, bringing its Lowcountry cooking to midday diners. Reservations are available on Resy and lunch is offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday to Sunday. Expect dishes like the restaurant’s signature lump crab cake, oyster casino, a shrimp basil burger and oyster stew.

The Chef Daniel Humm x The Charleston Place pop-up has opened in the former Charleston Grill space. The prix-fixe menu includes dishes like radish carpaccio with apple, daikon

GOING DARK

Raw Lab, the omakase-style raw bar and dining experience, will close after four years in business. Located at 99 S. Market St. in Charleston, the restaurant will host its last service on Dec. 31.
