Alex Harris of the Pour House has assembled a group of local musicians for A Tribute to Neil Young on Sun. Nov. 13, celebrating the rock legendโ€™s 66th birthday. Local bands Guilt Ridden Troubadour and Mac Leaphart and My Ragged Company will head the lineup with support from Columbiaโ€™s Josh Roberts and the Hinges and special guests John Wesley Satterfield and Danielle Howle.

โ€œEverybody likes to get together and jam with friends, and I donโ€™t know any songwriters who donโ€™t like Neil Young,โ€ says Leaphart, who will play signature Young songs โ€œHeart of Goldโ€ and โ€œPowderfingerโ€ at the tribute. โ€œThe rumor is that Young wrote โ€˜Powderfingerโ€™ for Lynyrd Skynyrd, but Ronnie Van Zant was killed before they could record it.โ€

Guilt Ridden Troubadour will include their rousing version of โ€œOhioโ€ by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, as well as โ€œEverybody Knows This is Nowhereโ€ and โ€œCinnamon Girl.โ€ A Tribute to Neil Young is sure to be a jamming weave of Young classics and original music by the performers.

Admission is $8. Music starts at 8 p.m. Visit charlestonpourhouse.com for more. โ€”Duffy Lewis
