It’s been three weeks since I started my job as editorial assistant at your favorite newspaper and I love it more every day. I moved here from central Virginia about two months ago after graduating from the University of Mary Washington (no, it’s not a women’s college). It’s always been my dream to live in this city, so after I graduated I packed up and moved down without much of a plan as to what I’d do next. But I got lucky: after just a few weeks here I landed my dream job. Then I got fired and started working at the City Paper. (kidding) But enough about me.
One of my main jobs is keeping up with the community billboard and calendar listings, so that you, dear readers, know what’s going on in town. As a newbie here, this job can be a bit challenging, but it’s forcing me to dive headfirst into this city, and I’m finding it an exciting place. I’ll be posting my adventures on this blog, and if you’ve got any suggestions of events I should check out, leave a comment or send me an e-mail.
