If you happen to be in the market for a whole pig, your best bet is Frank Marvin’s slaughterhouse and meat market out in Hollywood. If you don’t know what to do with the whole pig once you’ve bought it, Marvin will rent you a gas-powered cooker on a trailer along with handwritten instructions on how to barbecue the thing. And, you can pick up a few pounds of fresh-made liver pudding while you’re there.
