Local drummer and technician Scott Price has kept time with a variety of Charleston rock bands — most notably, the celebrated ’90s punk band Cletus. When he’s not doing tech work and traveling with the Blue Dogs, he kicks it with some of his old bandmates in the scene, including Soda Pop Curtis. Over the last year, he invested time, money, and effort into a different vocation, though: designing and building drums under the name Starr Drum Company. Set up as a hands-on specialty company capable of delivering uniquely-shaped, sturdy drum kit pieces, Starr concentrates on making custom drums (six-ply or 10-ply). Price will repair, recondition, and trick-out older drums as well. Can you beat that?
