Charleston Firefighters, please believe we love y’all. What would we do without you? Seriously. Sincerely. Thank you for the work you do with the kids and the CCC, and thanks for your consideration of my own kids. I know you would be there for us, should we ever need you. I fully understand what it means to risk your life with pride, for people you don’t know. You are all very brave, truly. You are also boot-scoot-n-loony for standing in the road chatting for change with a rubber boot. Regardless of the nobility of your non-profit charity work for sick and downtrodden children, not to mention the courage you must have for dodging some of the worst drivers I’ve ever seen, it would clearly be safer and easier from a tent in a parking lot with some banana bread and brownies. Now remember, we love y’all. Don’t take it personal, but get the heck out of the dang road. Seriously. Sincerely. Its less likely you’ll be hit by a cell phone driver, and much more memorable when !
we all hang out at the first annual CCC Happy Fun Play Day down at the park with a big steamy stack of Folly River oysters, saltines, horseradish, and hot sauce. I’ll pay twenty or more clams to get into the event and bring a bunch of my friends and family. The helpless kids get helped, traffic flows smoothly, and the oyster guy makes a buck. Everybody is happy… and alive… and full of oysters. So pretty please, and no offense, stop standing in the freakin road. We love y’all. We want to keep each one of you. We need you. Now watch yourself, here comes a CARTA bus.
