It’s that time of year again kids. That’s right. It’s the vernal equinox, the moment when the sun shines directly on the equator and marks the passing of winter and the beginning of spring.

Since the pagan contingent over at the Unitarian church doesn’t seem to be having any kind of celebration planned, you might as well head over to Manoli Davani’s adorable little wine and cheese shop for a modern take on the vernal equinox. You know, instead of dancing around the maypole, you drink beer (a keg of Stone Pale Ale), nosh on kebabs of lamb and veggies, nibble cheese, and enjoy beautiful glasses of wine.

You can also let your competitive edge loose in the dip contest, the winner of which gets three bottles of wine.

It’s also a pretty affordable way to spend a Friday night — $15 for three hours of food and drink. The fun starts at 6 p.m.
