We recently heard from Lindsey Carter of Troubadour, one of the finalists at this year’s Charleston Fashion Week. She’s planning on opening a Pop Up Shop May 21 at 501 King St. Here it is in Lindsey’s words: The idea is to gather all local up and coming designers and artists in a venue for a limited amount of time to create brand awareness, yet filling an empty storefront on Upper King Street. This drives traffic to Upper King and turns the unoccupied space into an appealing place while giving artists a high-traffic venue to sell merchandise.” Besides pieces from Lindsey, look for stuff from hot local designers Proud Mary, Theodosia, Ashley Reid, Julie Wheat, Library, Kate Long Stevenson, and Ross Kenan Interiors. The idea is inspired by similar shops in cities like NYC and San Fran. Lindsey will kick things off with a party on Thurs. May 21, and the store will be open for about a month afterward. Stay posted for more information closer to the date. Btw, follow Lindsey on Twitter @Troubaduor.
