Interesting blues-rock news from the Windjammer‘s schedule: From the hills of north Mississippi, members of the dirty blues/Southern rock band North Mississippi Allstars (guitarist Luther Dickinson, little brother/drummer Cody, and bassist Chris Chew) and guest players return to Charleston behind a new album titled Make a Move (Razor & Tie). Seven songs on the album feature lyrics by Garry Burnside (of the Burnside Exploration), son of blues veteran R.L. Burnside.
Hill Country Revue will be on tour all summer playing a variety of clubs, festivals, and opening slots — including an appearance at the Rothbury Festival on July 4, and opening for the Dave Matthews Band in July and August.
Hill Country Revue performs a two-night stint at the Windjammer on the IOP (1008 Ocean Blvd.) on Mon. June 1 and Tues. June 2 with Charlottesville band Sons of Bill opening both nights. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are surprisingly affordable at $7 ($5 advance).
