Bob Croslin has some major street cred. The Florida photographer works with many well-known hip-hop artists, designing their album covers, posters, and magazine spreads. His distinctive style is due to his manipulation of light through the use of multiple flashes, giving his shots an edgy appeal.

Croslin is setting up camp for a few days at the Charleston Center for Photography. On Aug. 7, from 6-9 p.m., the Center is hosting an opening exhibition party for Croslin’s show Power of the Light.

And the party fits right in line with the photographer’s style. Local hip-hop dance crew KunFewZion will be performing, accompanied by DJ Natty Heavy. Home Team BBQ will be whipping up the eats. If you like what you see at the show, Croslin will be holding a workshop at the C4P from Aug. 10-12 to teach you his techniques.
