This Friday night the Broad Street Merchants Association presents First Fridays on Broad, a free evening of wine, hors dโ€™ล“uvres, and fine art along Gallery Row. The event is held the first Friday of most months and stretches from St. Michaelโ€™s to the Exchange Building.

The most buzzworthy openings on Friday are Robert Lange’s Measure: Creatures Great + Small, the last show at their East Bay location. Also, Scoop Studios hosts the opening of Up, featuring works by Scott Debus. And don’t forget to stop by Corrigan Gallery, a little off the beaten path on Queen Street, to check out X-Rated, which is only on view through Saturday.

Other things you’ll see include glass-blown pieces from Olivia Cash Agle at Ellis-Nicholson, local wood-turning from Paul Kaplowitz and viola music from Don Olson at Mary Martin Fine Art, wine still-lifes by Rodney Huckaby at Coco Vivo, works by Ann Lee Merrill at Edward Dare, and the โ€œItโ€™s Raining Frogsโ€ exhibit by Charles Smith and sons at Hamlet Fine Art.

Additional participating merchants include Utopia, Atmah Jaโ€™s, Spencer Galleries, Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art, Martin Gallery, Jakeโ€™s, Oak Steakhouse, and The Blind Tiger.

Leave the maps for the tourists โ€” all you have to do is follow the crowd around the compact French Quarter. You should have no trouble finding all the spots. The event lasts from 5-8 p.m.
