Good news, Folly Beach: you’re getting a new arts venue on April 1. Slightly Off Center is a gallery and a gift shop located at 103 W. Erie Street. The place will feature an art and gift gallery, a tearoom, a custom frame shop, and art classes for children.

Opening right next door will be the Open-air Market on Center Street. The market will include a variety of local, hand-made arts, organic vegetables and fruits, and fresh flowers.

Organizers Jane Word, Anne Warner, and Sherry Brown hope to fill in a niche that they feel has been lacking in the Folly Beach area. They are determined to make the market and gallery a place where up-and-coming, underrepresented, or unknown artists can get their works noticed by thousands of people. Artists or vendors interested in renting a booth can contact Sarah Dixon at (843) 303-2093.
