Lesbians and lassos were out in full force during the Mexican Rodeo Fiesta at Santi’s on Sunday afternoon. A fundraiser for Charleston Pride, the event lured guests in with free beer, old school music, and the ever-popular mechanical bull ride. While the crowd started out a bit timid, all it took was tapping a few kegs to everyone moving. Guests, dressed in their finest rainbow attire, danced about while a guy dressed in a squirrely pig outfit had everyone’s heads turning. The green and black bull kept folks coming back for more rides as they were determined to show it who was boss — or really just to win a free drink ticket for staying on for more than 10 seconds. Though the bull was by far the biggest hit, other activities included a lasso competition and a “pin-the-pig” game, which involved pinning the aforementioned pig guy soaked in baby oil to the ground.
