Popular alt-rock band Cracker makes another return to the Charleston area for two big shows at the Windjammer this month.

Lead singer/guitarist David Lowery, guitarist/singer Johnny Hickman, drummer Frank Funaro, and bassist Sal “Black Sal” Maida recently played for U.S. troops during a short tour in Iraq.

They’ve stayed busy on the road all year behind their latest studio album Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey — a mix of vintage jangle-rock and art-punk with a touch of glam.

Cracker shares the bill with local roots-rock band Classic Woodies on Fri. June 25 and with Athens, Ga.-based indie-rock band The Modern Skirts on Sat. June 26.
