FIG will make an appearance tonight on Best Thing I Ever Ate, the Food Network’s answer to VH1’s Best Week Ever. You know the format: talking heads (Tyler Florence, Guy Fieri, Giada DeLaurentiis) on white background riffing on their favorite food items, video of said food items being made, footage of talking head eating.

Tonight’s episode is all about sauces — from scarpetta and barbecue to caramel and red peanut mole. So what item from FIG’s menu will celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli make you drool over? Hanger steak with agrodolce, an Italian-style sweet and sour sauce that Chef Mike Lata loves to pair with pork and beef. Chances are it’s not currently on the menu, which changes with the seasons, but we bet it will crop up after its made famous on TV tonight.

This isn’t the first time a Charleston restaurant has appeared on Best Thing I Ever Ate, which premiered in June 2009. Alton Brown praised both the chocolate pudding at Hominy Grill and the Cosmic Dog at Jack’s Cosmic Dogs (a place he’s featured on several shows) while Tyler Florence gave a shout out to Magnolias’ pimento cheese with flatbread.

The program airs Mondays on the Food Network at 9 p.m.
