We’ve all been gloating at having a start-up success story in our midst, with Noah Everett moving to the Holy City last year after founding the popular photo sharing service, TwitPic.

Now, Everett is putting his social networking skills to work with a new venture, a mysterious project called Heello. He launched the new site last week, at heello.com, with a note that it will make communicating easier, particularly for businesses and nonprofits. The specifics are expected to be rolled out later this year, but Everett says Heello will address problems he faced while getting TwitPic off the ground.

Everett tells the City Paper the new company will be headquartered downtown. He hopes to develop a start-up culture, making Charleston the East Coast version of San Francisco.
