What does a Caribbean cantina know about winter weather? More than you think. Fuel hosted a Winter Block Party on Saturday, and even though the bash lasted a solid 10 hours, the crowd never really let up, growing as the night progressed.
With the exception of one particularly disgruntled Fuel server, everyone seemed to be having a great time. Jason and the Juggernauts played laid-back, 1960s-style surf jams and every other person brought their dog, with most folks lounging outside. Aside from the cool vibes of the band and booze, the large proportion of attractive dudes didn’t hurt, either. Just sayin’.
As the sun set, the “high octane” part of the event kicked in. By 7 p.m., the line had been out the door for hours, and the snowboard rampy thing (I think this is the technical term for it) was nearing completion, with layer upon layer of snow having been packed on all afternoon. Those who stayed for the later part of the evening got to check out a snowboarding competition while grooving to the spacey, electric jams of JeffET. I’m geared up for Fuel’s next block party already.
