There are some cool events coming your way, and if you’re a food lover, you’ll want to take note.

We already told you about the dinner that Ken Vedrinski is hosting at Lucca in honor of his friend and food writer John Mariani.

That same night across town, McCrady’s is hosting the Southern Foodways Alliance’s Potlikker Film Festival. Sean Brock (McCrady’s), Robert Stehling (Hominy Grill), and Sarah O’Kelley (The Glass Onion) will be in charge of the food — and they promise squirrel gravy and oyster-flavored COAST beer — while guests will watch Joe York’s films on Robert Barber, Buckshot Colleton, Emile DeFelice, Bertha Grant, and Glenn Roberts.

Another McCrady’s event on our radar is the St. Patrick’s Day dinner with Tony Maws from Craigie on Main in Boston. Forget green beer and bangers and mash and get ready for seasonal fare prepared by two of the country’s best young chefs.

And don’t forget this weekend’s barn raiser for Ovis HIll Farms. A contingent of Charleston chefs will be making food and helping raise money for Charlie Caldwell, who suffered a fire at his farm and lost 500 animals. We’ll be there.
