The Jazz Artists of Charleston’s 2011 season enjoyed some coverage on local television on April 14 when South Carolina ETV’s weekly program The Big Picture aired “Charleston Jazz,” a 30-minute episode that goes behind the scenes of the swingin’ Charleston Jazz Orchestra and the work of JAC.

“We’ve worked closely with many of ETV’s videographers and producers, particularly The Big Picture’s [host and producer] Mark Quinn to make this a reality,” says JAC president Leah Suárez. “The attraction to our story comes with the attraction to the people involved and the quality of programming and community we have been able to build over the past four years through JAC’s many and varied endeavors.”

The Charleston Jazz Orchestra’s next big concert is The Music of Miles Davis, set for Sat. May 21 at the Charleston Music Hall. Tickets are available for $30 (adult), $25 (seniors), and $20 (students).
