The City Market might be the place to shop for Lowcountry-themed tchotchkes during the day, but for a few nights starting next week, it’s the place to go to see local art. The third annual Art in the Evening Series will be held Feb. 17-18 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. in buildings A and B of the City Market.
It’s a juried event with works from local painters, potters, jewelry-makers, woodworkers, and more. The series will continue weekly on Friday and Saturday nights through Christmas. Starting in March, Thursdays will be added as well.
New artists will be featured each week, and participants must submit samples of their work and reserve a space by the Wednesday before the event. For more info, call special events manager Peggy Price at (843) 327-5976 or e-mail ponprice@gmail.com.
