Police are asking for help identifying a man who committed an armed robbery in a bathroom at Citadel Mall on Christmas Eve.

According to a police report, at around 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 24, a black male with medium skin tone and a “high and tight” haircut approached another man in a restroom near the food court while holding a brown and black handgun and demanded money. The victim handed over his wallet with an unidentified amount of money, and the mugger left through the food court.

The robber is described as 5’6″ or 5’7″ in height, 28 to 30 years old, with scruffy facial hair. The Charleston Police Department is looking for information that could lead to an arrest in the case. Take a look at the composite drawing and surveillance photos of the suspect, and if you know anything you can share with the police, contact Detective Lauren Mulkey at (843) 720-3034 or mulkeyl@charleston-sc.gov. Alternately, you can call Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111 and give an anonymous tip. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward for information leading to an arrest.
