Charlestonian and American Idol finalist Elise Testone is coming home, ladies and gents. On Thurs. Feb. 14, Testone will be performing a live and unplugged Valentine’s Day show with special guests at the Charleston Music Hall. (If we had to guess, that’ll probably include former Elise Testone and the Freeloaders’ member Wallace Mullinax, who joined the singer on the Idol stage for a performance of Jimi Hendrix’s “Bold as Love.”) Testone placed sixth in the 11th season of American Idol, and in 2011 Testone and the Freeloaders won the City Paper Music Award for Funk/Soul/R&B Artist of the Year; Mullinax, the leader of the Dead 27s, won the 2012 CPMA Award for Guitarist of the Year. Doors open for the Whole Lotta Love V-Day show at 6:30 p.m., and Testone takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18/balcony, $20/floor, and $35/VIP, which’ll get you priority seating and a meet-and-greet session with the soulful chanteuse.
