English biologist and author Richard Dawkins will give a free talk on Sat. March 9 at 7 p.m. at the College of Charleston’s Physician’s Memorial Auditorium.
The event is co-sponsored by Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry, College of Charleston Secular Students, and the college’s departments of philosophy, biology, and religious studies. Herb Silverman, founder of SHL and president emeritus of the Secular Coalition for America, extended the invitation for Dawkins to give a talk. “Richard Dawkins, world-famous evolutionary biologist, is also a rock star within our fast-growing atheist movement,” Silverman says. “I am thrilled that he will be speaking here in Charleston.”
Admission is free, but seats will be given on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event.
