Nashville’s shit-talking stepchild Shooter Jennings is swinging by West Ashley’s Earshot Records on Sat. April 20 for a little acoustic Record Store Day performance. (That night he’ll be at the Windjammer for an electric show.) Shooter steps up to the mic at 3 p.m.; he’ll also be gladly signing his CDs and LPs. If you pre-order or purchase any of Jenning’s albums from Earshot, you’ll get priority entrance to his in-store show. (His latest The Other Life is pretty dang good, but we’re big fans of his 2010’s hard rock concept album Black Ribbons.) Mountains of Earth, False Light, and Matadero (featuring Lindsay Holler) will also be on the bill. Earshot has also put together a Record Store Day compilation CD that will be free to all attendees. It features 19 artists from the Carolinas, including Band of Horses, Shovels & Rope, Wolf Lord, and more.
