You can play it safe and opt for Spoleto’s promising theatrical offerings. Or you could choose from the tried-and-true local companies. Or, if you really want to take a chance, you could see what those crazy kids at the College of Charleston have been up to. Now in its seventh year, Under the Lights features 10 original plays by CofC students. The final 10 are selected from dozens of entries, and the students are in charge of every aspect of the productions, from writing to producing to acting. Best of all, the plays are only 10 minutes each, so if one turns out to be a dud, you only have a few minutes to wait until the next one — and that one might just be the next big thing.
